CHANGING GUITAR STRINGS

scroll down

When changing guitar strings, it's best to change them one at a time, starting with the thickest. This is to maintain pressure on the neck so there will be less movement, making it easier to re-tune as the guitar doesn't have to stabilise again. If you're changing string gauge to a heavier or lighter set, the truss rod adjustment will need to be reset and you should check the nut to make sure the strings fit properly in the grooves. Your local MDA dealer will offer you the best advice and will be able to assist if your guitar needs to be set up again.
