STRINGS KEEP BREAKING

scroll down

1. It's old! The older the string the weaker the string. Old strings develop flat spots where they rest on the frets, which weakens the string, causes buzzes and reduces clarity on the note.

2. Kinks can be felt by running the string between your fingers. Any kinks in the string are weak spots.

3. Heavy picks and hands. Hard playing with the right hand and a heavy pick will cause strings to break more often.

4. Sharp edges where the string crosses the nut or saddle can cause breakages. Get your guitar to a technician and tell them where the strings are breaking.
